The legacy of Revolutionary Struggle

Nikos Maziotis has been the presumed head of Revolutionary Struggle since the death of Lambros Foundas in 2010. Here's a list of the terrorist hits attributed to it.

Among the terrorist groups set up after the arrest of the November 17 members in 2002, Revolutionary Struggle (RS) was the most prominent. Although there have been no casualties in their terrorist acts, they have been targeted, loud and quite symbolic.

Maziotis is considered the head of Revolutionary Struggle since his “comrade” Lambros Foundas, the presumed head of the organization, was shot dead by the police in a March 2010 shootout in the Athens suburb of Dafni.

After Foundas' death, several members of the RS were arrested, including Maziotis and his girlfriend Panagiota Roupa. On account of a typical delay in the process of their trial, the pair was released on probation, which they broke in July 2012, when they disappeared without a trace. Until this morning, that is, when Maziotis was arrested in downtown Athens.
