A symbolic sit in at the office of Thessaloniki mayor Yannis Boutaris was staged by municipal employees, this morning. The sit in was staged as part of the work freeze ordered by municipal employee federation POE-OTA.

Mayor of Thessaloniki, Yiannis Boutaris, using strong language, expressed his full support for the President of PASOK, Evangelos Venizelos, after the intense booing and heckling he received a couple of days ago during the celebration of the founding anniversary of the party.

The swearing in of Yannis Boutaris for another term as mayor of Thessaloniki was not without incident as Golden Dawn members and antiracist and antifascist groups exchanged shouts and catcalls during the ceremony.
