The ruling by the Greek Council of State (Cos) to allow free and unrestricted movement of refugees and immigrants arriving in the country from April 17 onwards across the country has raised alarm in Brussels.

One of the eight Turkish officers who are seeking asylum in Greece after the failed coup in Turkey in 2016 appeared before the Suspension Committee of the Council of State to explain the reasons that led him and his colleagues to escape their country. 

The Council of State opened the way to the development of the former Hellinikon airport on Thursday, approving its investment plan as fully compliant with the Greek constitution and legislation.
