Greece’s problem with unauthorized buildings will be dealt with by using drones and high precision satellite imaging, Alternate Minister for the Environment Yiannis Tsironis said.

According to information in Greek media today, USA has asked the Greek government for the permission to place a number of drones on Crete for a period of six to twelve months.

The Greek Public Order Ministry is in negotiations with Israeli agencies regarding drones, to enhance surveillance mechanisms by the Hellenic police.
