Despite the very strict warnings made by Washington, Brussels, Paris, London, Rome, and partly Moscow, the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan is intensifying its provocative stance in the Eastern Mediterranean, as Turkish warships are escorting the drilling vessel “Fatih”, militarising the crisis.

Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has called Turkey's deployment of a survey vessel to drill for hydrocarbons near the island a "second invasion" and a breach of international law, Greek newspaper Ekathimerini reported on Tuesday.

The Turkish Cypriot ship Barbaros entered Cyprus’s Exclusive Economic Zone on Thursday afternoon, moving in an area where hydrocarbon exploration is already taking place on behalf of Nicosia.
