Unemployment fell to 15.8% in the second quarter of 2021, down 1.7% from the previous quarter and 4.7% from the corresponding quarter of 2020, according to data compiled by the ELSTAT. The unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2021 was 17.1% and in the second quarter of 2020 16.7%.

The food-beverage category is emerging as the most dynamic among the four broader product categories that Greece exports to the USA, according to the data of Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) for 2020 exports, which were processed by the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Consulate General of Greece in New York.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in September 2019 was 16.8 pct compared to the 18.8 pct in September 2018 and to the upward revised 16.9 pct in August 2019, according to Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). The number of employed in September 2019 amounted to 3,913,254 persons.
