Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis is travelling to Washington on Thursday for the 5th round of Greece-US Strategic Dialogue, the foreign ministry announced.

The governments of Greece and the United States of America held their second Bilateral Strategic Dialogue in Athens on October 7, 2019, initiated by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and State Department Secretary, Mike Pompeo, on Monday. The talks had high-level representation from various agencies, according to the text.

The second round of Greece-United States Strategic Dialogue began on Monday in the wake of U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Athens, which marked an upgrade of the Defence Agreement with Greece.
