In the vast majority of Thessaly municipalities, a population decline is recorded, while the demographic problem has made its threatening appearance throughout the country in recent years.

A new English-speaking Department of Medicine is starting at the University of Thessaly on October 7, which will welcome 40 international students in Larissa. This is the first foreign-language department at this university and the fourth in a row, after the Universities of Thessaloniki, Athens and Crete.
