Tourism organization TUI has extended the tourist season in Greece and Turkey until November in response to increased demand, as extreme summer temperatures disrupted the plans of some holidaymakers.

Tourism employees and professionals should expect to receive the greatest possible support for as long as their operations remain closed due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, said Greece government spokesman Stelios Petsas on Monday, adding that efforts were being made to salvage what remains of the tourism season.

A new regulatory framework involving the short-term rental market in Greece should be expected after the end of this year’s tourism season.
