A 90-year-old woman is the first victim of the West Nile virus (WNV) for Greece in 2017, who died after complications caused by encephalitis, according to information by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO). 

The first 2014 West Nile virus infection incident in Greece has been confirmed by laboratory tests, as was announced on Wednesday by the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO).

The Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) ran laboratory tests, and found the first West Nile virus infected patient of the year.
