Authorities on the island of Lesbos have imposed a total ban on animal movements and suspended all dairy trade following the first confirmed outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the region in over 30 years.
Turkish human traffickers opened fire with a firearm against a vessel of the Greek Port Authority off the area of Aghios Fokas, in the southern Lesvos island, on Saturday morning. No one was injured.
Four secondary schools, members of the International Schools Association (I.S.A.), will pay an educational visit to Lesvos, in the framework of the STEAM programme, with the cooperation of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest. The schools participating in the educational programme are A'ksent Suisse International School, St. Catherine's Moorlands School, Nika School and Italo Calvino School.
