Hundreds of Athenians braved the bad weather and headed to the hills on Monday to mark the traditional Ash Monday celebrations which include flying colourful kites, despite the downpour early in the morning.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) was active in Greece before the crisis, it remained during the crisis and its intention is to continue to be active after the crisis, the bank’s President Werner Hoyer said on Monday, as he released the EIB s 2014 annual report in Brussels.

The European Commission is expecting the list of reforms and measures Greece must send to Brussels on Monday, so that the four-month extension agreed by the Eurogroup meeting can be approved, a spokesman said. 

German newspaper Bild claims today that the reforms proposed by Athens to lenders will allow the government to collect revenue in excess of 7 billion euros.
