Yes, all Greek citizens who are registered in the electoral rolls may exercise their right to vote via postal ballot, if they wish to do so. Voters who are unable to access the electronic application through one of the available options, may address this issue, through their physical appearance,

In the electronic application for registration for postal voting there is a particular space for additional information, in reference to the delivery of electoral material. It is in this section, that the voter may make additional notes in order to facilitate the delivery of the election envelope by the courier company.

I had voted, from abroad, in the previous national election which took place in 2023. Is it necessary to register again for the absentee ballot?

These voters will be informed by email and will need to log in to the postal voting application, if they wish to vote in this way, to confirm their details and enter the address at which they want to receive the election material in order to register in the special electoral lists of postal voting.

During the European elections, polling station abroad will not be available for Greek citizens. Therefore, postal voting will be the only manner by which Greek citizens who will find themselves outside Greece on the day of the election will be able to exercise their right to vote.

Is there a cost related to receiving and shipment of the envelope?

No. Receiving the envelope of the absentee ballot, is done at no cost to the receiver as the cost is covered by Foreign Affairs. The shipment returning the postal ballot by the voter, will require payment by the voter. In this case, provision will be made for a refund to the voter at a fixed rate.
