Due to technical difficulties that arose, the big concert "Our Own Greece" has been rescheduled and will take place on the evening of Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Symphony Space in Manhattan.

It is a unique concert and a blockbuster in every sense of the word starring three distinguished performers, namely Gerasimos Andreatos, Petros Gaitanos, soprano Lina Orfanou, actress Efi Kitsandas, as well as the popular orchestra flanked by talented Greek and Greek-American musicians.

The Choir of the Pancypriot Association under the direction of Maestro Phytos Stratis will also participate in the concert.

So it is an extremely interesting cultural event, which is not only addressed to the diaspora, but also bears the stamp of diaspora artists. Undoubtedly, it will be a precious gem in the musical and cultural firmament of the community.

The concert will not only be a musical journey, but also a journey through the most important events in the History of the birthplace from 1821 onwards. World War I and II, Immigration, Civil War, Dictatorship, Postcolonization, etc. "pass" through the screen and the texts and are enriched with the music and songs of each era, with respect and an excess of emotion.

On the grand stage, witness a poetic symphony intertwining the timeless words of luminaries such as Makryiannis, Solomos, Seferis, and Elytis with the soul-stirring melodies of Tsitsanis, Vamvakaris, Theodorakis, Hatzidakis, Xarhakos, Mikroutsikos, etc. Through the cinematic masterpieces of Koundouros, Angelopoulos, and Voulgaris, immerse yourself in the visual poetry of Greece’s cinematic legacy.

With 30 melodious compositions, 25 evocative film excerpts drawn from historical archives, and the artistry of seven musicians and four soloists, this spectacle promises an unforgettable homage to Greece.

The Folk Orchestra, accompanied by the enchanting voices of Gerasimos Andreatos, Petros Gaitanos, Lina Orfanos, the Pancyprian Choir of N.Y. directed by Phyto Stratis and the actress Efi Kitsanta will guide both the youthful and the seasoned through an evening of enlightenment and reminiscence.

Crafted by visionary Konstantinos Gralter, and graphic artistry by Mosquito Studio Design, this production is curated to enchant and inspire. Under the executive stewardship of Lampros Ντinos, let this evening be a celebration of Greece’s enduring legacy and a testament to the power of music and art to transcend time.

The concert, as we mentioned above, will take place in the historic "Symphony Space" which is preparing to celebrate its 110th anniversary.
