Greece at the UN Annual International Bazaar

With a strong Greek element and an impressive attendance of high-ranking UN officials, the Annual International Bazaar was held again this year, at the initiative of the Spouses of Permanent Representatives to the United Nations, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Organization’s headquarters in New York.
The Bazaar, as stated in the relevant press release, is under the auspices of the wife of the United Nations Secretary-General and is organized by the United Nations Delegation Spouses’ Club. It is one of the most important charitable events of the UN, with proceeds going to support vulnerable populations and victims of recent humanitarian crises.
Greece participated again this year, for the third consecutive year, standing out for its authenticity, highlighting aspects of Greek culture, hospitality and tradition.
The participation of the Greek afternoon school of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, with twelve students, who enthusiastically undertook to introduce the audience to the dances of the Greek tradition, dressed in impressive traditional costumes, eliciting warm applause and praise from those present.
Visitors also had the opportunity to experience and purchase traditional dishes, which offered the authentic image of Greek cuisine.
This participation gave a special pulse to the Bazaar, confirming the established presence of Greece as a point of reference on the cultural map of the United Nations, with our country currently undergoing the first year of its term as an elected member of the Security Council, completing with particular success the periodic Presidency of the Council for the month of May.
The Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations expresses its warm thanks to all those who contributed to this year's successful participation.
