Gus Bilirakis' son gates married in Nafplio
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
For months, the family of congressman, Gus Bilirakis, had been preparing every detail of the wedding of his son, Michael, with his beloved Sofia Poulos.
The couple had chosen to get married in Greece, specifically in Nafplio.
The wedding took place on Saturday at the church of Agios Anastasios, with many members of the diaspora from across the Atlantic attending.
An emotional Gus Bilirakis and his wife, Eva, received an outpouring of well-wishes for the newlyweds. A feast followed with contemporary and traditional music, with the Bilirakis family leading the dance.
Michalis is one of the couple's four sons and is named after his grandfather, prominent politician Michael Bilirakis from Tarpon Springs, Florida, who supported Greek issues in Congress for decades. His work is continued by Gus Bilirakis, who has been elected to the US House of Representatives with the Republican party since 2007.
