Greece is entering the third stage of its return to the "new normality" on Monday, May 18, which includes the re-opening of middle (gymnasiums) and high schools (lyceums), shopping malls and archaeological sites, as well as allowing free travel between regions on the mainland and to the island of Crete.

The government on Saturday decided to have restaurants and cafes open for business on May 25, following the positive recommendation of the Infectious Diseases Committee at the Health Ministry.

Another 9 new coronavirus cases were officially recorded in Greece in the last 24 hours, and 2 people died, the Health Ministry reported on Saturday evening, bringing the total of infections since the start of the outbreak in the country to 2,819.
