Brain Gain: Greater lures for young people to return to Greece

Around 660,000 Greeks left the country during the decade of the crisis. Young, educated, with international perspectives, sought elsewhere the opportunities they did not find in Greece. However, today the picture is changing. According to the latest official data from Eurostat, over 420,000 of them have returned, bringing with them skills, experience and new demands.

Joint ministerial decision for expat pensions

The Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Citizen Protection and Interior concerning the new way of calculating the National Pension of expatriates coming from Albania and from countries of the former Soviet Union has been published in the Government Gazette (Β' 4135/3.8.2022).

Overseas Greeks now able to e-register family changes through consulates

Major life events such as births, marriages and deaths of Greeks living abroad can now be e-entered by consulates directly onto Greece's "Citizens Database", cutting through red-tape processes that up to now took months to complete, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Governance announced on Thursday.
