Around 6:15 am Thursday morning Hellenic Navy frigate “Kanaris” (F-464) ran aground at the islet of Atalanti, near Psytalia as it was coming back to the Salamina Naval Base after a planned mission.

Pericles Kanaris, a Greek composer, who is dividing his time between Athens and New York. He is the producer of "Music of Greece," the first compilation of Greek music ever released by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the head of the band "Synolon," which started performing Greek music in Manhattan in 2008, and he recently released his own original music album with lyrics by Manos Eleftheriou.
