West Brom to drop Samaras
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
New West Brom boss Tony Pulis wants to offload Giorgos Samaras to bring Blackburn’s Rudy Gestede in his place.
The Albion manager wants Rovers' 1.93 m. tall targetman Gestede and still hopes to keep in-demand star striker Saido Berahino. According to reports in the British press, Pulis is open to offers for the Greek ex-Celtic striker.
The Greek international forward at the age of 29, is yet to start a game for the club after joining them post-World Cup.
Pulis wants to bring in 26-year-old Benin international Gestede, who has 24 goals in 44 league games since joining Rovers from Cardiff last January after a successful loan spell, alongside Berahino.
He hasn’t been impressed by former Celtic star Samaras, or Brown Ideye, the Baggies' £10m record signing last summer.
