Cyclades: Top destination for Australians this year
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The adorable Paros, the fascinating history of Mykonos and the picturesqueness of Santorini dominate, from the Cyclades side, the very important Australian market for the islands. Escape, Australia's number 1 travel magazine, describes our islands and recommends them for holidays.
"There is much more to Mykonos than just night bars and DJs" he writes and adds: "It also offers pristine beaches, fascinating history and plenty of cultural activities to keep you entertained."
About Paros it writes: “This adorable little island is full of charm and lacks the touristy trappings you find elsewhere, making it the perfect place for a quiet Greek island getaway. Base yourself in the town of Parikia (which has lots of great restaurants and things to see) and get around the island using the excellent local bus system, which will take you to all the villages and beaches you want to explore."
Finally for Santorini it praises the incredible views at every turn and emphasizes that it is "one of the best ways to experience it is to do the 10km hike between the two main towns, Fira and Oia ideally early in the morning".
