The resumption of the promotion of Greece to the British public after the lifting of restrictive travel measures due to the pandemic was marked by the presentation of Astypalea and Alonissos in London, on Thursday, March 3, 2022, which took place at the residence of Greek Ambassador Ioannis Raptakis.

Following the investment in the island of Astypalaia agreed by Volkswagen AG and the government for the development of e-mobility, combined with renewable energy sources and energy storage systems, the island looks set to become a small-scale model of future energy systems in Greece.

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale shook the island of Astypalaia, a little before 1900 on Tuesday.
