Thousands thronged to the annual Lonsdale Street Greek Festival, in Melbourne searching for a taste of Greece and to show their solidarity to Greece’s new direction.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will announce the person that he will propose as a candidate President of the Republic on Tuesday, February 17 at SYRIZA’s parliamentary group meeting, government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis said on Sunday.

Crowds gathered at the Church of St. Nicholas in Larissa to bid a final farewell to Ririka Lazopoulou, the mother of popular comedian and actor Lakis Lazopoulos and his brother Kostas, who died at dawn Saturday, 85 years old.

"I'm sorry for the Greeks," said German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, who talked about "irresponsible" behavior by the government.
