The president of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations James Elroy Risch sent a support message for the 'EastMed Act', a day after it was submitted to the House of Representatives.
In a statement to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), he stressed that this bill reflects the US's "enthusiasm" for the cooperation that is being developed among Greece, Israel and Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The EastMed Act is a "package" law that places trilateral cooperation at the centre of US strategic interest as it attempts to significantly reform the US strategy in the Eastern Mediterranean, with the aim of bringing together credible and democratic allies and recognising new realities that have developed in the region.
