Featured Kimberly Guilfoyle: Her appointment has been officially confirmed

Kimberly Guilfoyle's name is included in the list of 48 candidates that the Senate ratified at noon on Thursday, officially making her the new US ambassador to Greece.

The path to the ratification of Kimberly Guilfoyle was opened after the activation of the so-called "nuclear option", i.e. the change of regulations, by the Republican majority that allowed the ratification of candidates by groups.

According to the initial plan, Ms. Guilfoyle should have been in our country already. However, the dissatisfaction of the Democrats with the vote in favor of the "big and beautiful bill", as President Trump called it, led them to decide not to support the nomination process, resulting in delays.

“If the Senate had continued at the pace we were moving throughout July, there would still be hundreds of empty offices on the last day of President Trump’s term in 2029,” Republican Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday.

“I am deeply grateful to President Trump and the U.S. Senate for the trust they have placed in me. It is the honor of my life to serve as the first female United States Ambassador to Greece,” Kimberly Guilfoyle wrote in a post minutes after her nomination was confirmed by the Senate. She is expected to arrive in Athens in mid-October, after signing her nomination and being sworn in.
