A Macedonian era tomb was discovered within the modern settlement of Pella during sewage network constructions.

A controversial bill granting an extension of civil partnerships to same-sex couples passed in Parliament late on Tuesday with 193 votes and on the strength of most parties, while three others, including most of the junior ruling coalition party, voted against it.

Thirteen  people lost their lives, victims of a new accident at the sea region east of the island of Farmakonissi, when a 7- meter boat with 29 refugees aboard sank under unidentified circumstances early on Wednesday morning.
Among the drowned victims are  seven children.

Alternate Justice Minister for Corruption Dimitris Papangelopoulos presented a bill to Parliament that will facilitat the judiciary in prosecuting cases involving large-scale tax evasion and embezzlement.
