While Cyprus is set to announce the discovery of huge NG deposits within its EEZ, Turkey is set to take the seas by storm with its approaching naval war games, which are set to be the largest in the history of the Republic.
The exercises of the “Blue Homeland” drill slated for Feb. 27 to March. 8, will simultaneously be held in the Black Sea, Aegean and East Mediterranean regions of Turkey.
The Turkish Armed forces (TAF) combat and auxiliary ships, sea-air vehicles, coastal troops, SAT and SAS teams along with the Land Forces, Air Force and Coast Guard Command will participate in the upcoming war games.
New weapons and systems integrated into the TAF will also make their debuts at the drills which aim to optimize and develop interoperability between various force commands as well as raise participating units’ preparedness for combat.
