- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The situation in Cyprus due to developments in the Middle East has increased concern in recent days, with Stefanos Michael pointing out that, as a reserve commando, he has his personal equipment, gun and bullets at home, declaring himself ready to respond to any call.
After the drone strike on the British base in Akrotiri, Cyprus is on alert. In this context, the Cypriot actor spoke on Wednesday, March 4, on the show "Super Katerina" about the situation prevailing on the island and his status as a reserve commando.
Regarding the atmosphere in Limassol, he said that there is intense fear and restrictions on daily movements, with people not going out much. He pointed out that, as a reserve commando, he has his personal equipment at home, including his gun and bullets, adding that he is fully equipped. As he said: "In Limassol there is an additional fear. The world has been restricted, they don't go out much. I, as a reserve commando, have my personal load at home, I have my gun, I have my bullets, I have everything. In other words, I am fully equipped. If they call us, we will have to show up. Let's just say that we are prepared. It may be a distant scenario, but no matter how distant it is, you never know."
Referring to Greece's assistance, Stefanos Michael commented: "In general, the climate is strange. Now we are also seeing Greece sending frigates down to Cyprus, along with F-16s. "We have to give credit to the Greek government for that. This time we feel it present and it's very moving."
