New interception of an aerial threat in Saudi Arabia, with the participation of Greek Patriot air defense systems, which were activated at night.

This is the second time that Greek Patriots have shot down a missile in the area, while it is the third successful interception, as in a previous incident two missiles had been neutralized in the same operational sector.

The new incident occurred late at night, when an alarm was raised for an upcoming threat. The Patriot Guided Missile Artillery of the Hellenic Force in Saudi Arabia was immediately put into operation, which proceeded to launch and successfully intercept the enemy missile, preventing possible consequences for critical infrastructure or residential areas.

The first activation of Greek anti-aircraft systems in the region was recorded on March 19, when, following a relevant threat warning, two missiles were launched with the aim of intercepting an Iranian ballistic missile.

“On Holy Monday, April 6, 2026, in the early hours of the morning, the PATRIOT Guided Missile Artillery of the Hellenic Forces in Saudi Arabia (ELDYSA), as part of its participation in the mission of the international initiative “Integrated Air Missile Defense (IAMD) Concept” to support the air defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, launched a missile and shot down a target (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – UAV), in accordance with the applicable Rules of Engagement. The force continues its mission normally,” according to sources.
