The government of Cyprus has deemed U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's scheduled visit as "particularly important", since it represents America's vested interest in the island.
Today, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu declared that the nation is not planning to pay Cyprus 90 million euros, as instructed by the European Court of Human Rights.
The US is expected to announce the funding of a master plan for the wider region of the Turkish occupied town of Famagusta, during next week's visit to Cyprus by Vice President Joe Biden. Biden is due on the island between 21-23 May.
