A retired General of the Greek Army heading the Greek delegation in talks with the Turkish side for the Confidence Building Measures (IOC) for the de-escalation of tension in the Aegean Sea has submitted his resignation.

"The risk of a 'hot' incident with Turkey is permanent," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Friday in an interview with public broadcaster ERT.
Tsipras spoke of an "unpredictable neighbour" who does not respect international law.

The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a response to the Turkish Foreign Ministry on the latter’s press release regarding the Pontic Genocide, calling it “an unfortunate attempt to falsify history”.
