Workers in public transport will join a 24-hour strike for Tuesday, September 24, declared by the Athens and Piraeus Work Centres in conjunction with the Civil Servant’s Confederation (ADEDY) in protest against a growth bill proposed by the Greek government.

The Panhellenic Seamen's Federation (PNO) has called a new 24-hour strike affecting all categories of ships on Tuesday, after rejecting the ferry ship owners' proposal for 2 pct wage increase for seamen for two years.

Greece will be "paralyzed" on Thursday because of the strike called by all trade unions involved in the 24-hour general strike that was declared by the general public sector confederation GSEE and civil servants union ADEDY.
