The 8th Athens Half Marathon, which this year takes place on March 17, can serve as the spring launch event of all sporting events in Greece, and combined with the arts, culture, health and wellness, become a major tourism product, organizers said at a press conference this week.

The Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) and the City of Athens have joined forces once again and will be hosting The Athens Half Marathon – one of the most popular sporting events held at Athens’s city centre – on March 18th, 2018.

The 6th Athens Half Marathon, the city's annual major spring sports event, was held on Sunday 19 March. 21,000 runners took part in the four races which was organised by the Municipality of Athens, Attica region and the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS).
