The alleged attempted rape of a 19-year-old Syrian refugee man by three Iraqi refugees in the Samos reception and identification centre has provoked a series of reprisals and sparked violent clashes between Syrians and Iraqis on the island.

One person was arrested and two were detained after clashes between protesters and riot police in an anti-austerity rally in central Athens on Thursday, where unions, bodies, anti-establishment groups and citizens gathered to protest against the new omnibus bill debated in parliament. 

Another incident between Afghan and Syrian refugees was recorded at Chios island hotspot. 3 persons were transferred to the local hospital, after being stabbed.
