A 32-year-old woman from Chios was taken to an Athens hospital after being injured by a rocket in Vrontado on Easter Sunday.

Seven people were arrested on Monday in Chios for making homemade rockets, in view of the Easter celebrations. The previous night, according to the Hellenic Police, some of them were injured in a warehouse on the island by the ignition of a mixture of materials that would fill the rockets. The warehouse was filled with “raw materials”, necessary for the ceremonial Easter “rocket war” in the town of Vrontado.

Members of the Panhellenic Federation “Nemesis” held a symbolic protest in the center of Athens on Sunday, expressing their opposition to the mass slaughter of lambs in anticipation of Easter.
