Greece doubles capacity of RES in four years
The development of cross-border interconnections that make Greece an energy hub for Southeastern Europe was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Alexandra Sdoukou in her address at the ministerial Conference of the International Energy Agency (IEA) on 13-14 February in Paris.
Greece can become a hydrogen hub and a synthetic fuel production center
Investments totaling up to 650 billion euros are estimated to be required by 2050 in Europe to convert refineries so as to produce advanced biofuels, and new production units so as to produce synthetic fuels from green hydrogen, water and renewable electricity, general director at the European Fuel Manufacturers Association(Fuels Europe & Concawe), Liana Gouta, said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) released on Tuesday.
Promoting an ambitious plan to turn Greece into an energy hub
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, speaking in New York, sent the message that "the Mitsotakis Government is promoting an ambitious project to turn Greece into an energy hub, and through its interconnection with Egypt, to be able to provide the European market with capabilities for addressing the energy balance crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine."
