A large fire is in progress that broke out in the early hours of Monday in Fygias Karystos in Evia, while through 112 an order was given for the preventive evacuation of the settlements of Kokkini and the Doctors' Building Cooperative. A few minutes ago, a precautionary evacuation order was given for Marmari as well.

Small pockets of wildfires continue to burn in areas of the Ancient Olympia township, in Ilia, western Peloponnese, Deputy Regional Director of Ilia Vassilis Yannopoulos told Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) on Wednesday. Firefighters are focused on a region among the communities of Lasdika, Milies and Kryoneri, "where one more ground team of firefighters is expected shortly." 

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday announced a special allocation of 500 million euros from the state budget for Attica Region and Evia island to immediately help residents who lost homes and businesses in wildfires this week.
