Greece found itself at the heart of China's travel industry through the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), with an impressive stand and enhanced participation in the leading international B2B tourism exhibition. ITB China 2024 (Shanghai 27-29/05/24) is the leading B2B international trade fair, focusing on China's travel market, which marked the year 2024 as a year of recovery and optimism for the Chinese travel industry.

Greece is placed at the top of the world travel elite, after the awarding of the Ministry of Tourism and NGTO (EOT) as "Top Tourism Agency in the World".

Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) President Angela Gerekou, in an address late on Thursday to the 100th general assembly of the European Travel Commission held via teleconference, said that in order to go forward it was necessary to first take a step back and assess what has happened in the last decade. Afterward, she added, there must be an analysis of the current conditions and the planning and implementation of policies for "the kind of tourism we want to have in the coming years."
