GNTO at the International Exhibition ITB China 2024 in Shanghai

Greece found itself at the heart of China's travel industry through the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), with an impressive stand and enhanced participation in the leading international B2B tourism exhibition. ITB China 2024 (Shanghai 27-29/05/24) is the leading B2B international trade fair, focusing on China's travel market, which marked the year 2024 as a year of recovery and optimism for the Chinese travel industry.
GNTO participated with a 90 m2 pavilion and co-exhibitors the Region of Attica, the Region of Central Macedonia, Elitour (Hellenic Health Tourism Council), the This is Athens Organization, HATTA, as well as the Tourist Offices Kalamaki Travel, My Odyssey, TourGreece and Chandris Hotels, who held a large number of scheduled and unscheduled meetings.
More than 15,000 participants, over 1,000 selected buyers (buyers) and approximately 250 media representatives participated in the exhibition, while, according to the organizers, 27,500+ business meetings took place between professionals and 600 exhibitors from more than 80 countries.
During the exhibition, GNTO officials held more than 50 meetings at the pavilion, with tourist agencies and the media, discussing the prospects for further development of the already popular as well as new destinations in Greece, given the airline's direct flights of Juneyao company from Shanghai to Athens and the creation of a common code (interline) for domestic flights in Greece.
In addition, from the profile of the agencies registered on the exhibition platform, it was found that more than 50 additional agencies were also interested in Greece and the creation of related programs (Senior travel, Weddings, Luxury travel, Wellness, Golf Holidays, Medical travel , Luxury shopping, Family holidays etc) for various destinations.
On the second day of the exhibition (28/5), there was a presentation of the GNTO to tourist agencies and media, at the Hellas House in Shanghai, where the head of the EOT China Service, Pavlos Mourmas, referred to the diversity of the Greek tourist product - beyond the " sun and sea"- and the possibility of creating tourist packages or tailor-made holidays for Chinese visitors, throughout the year.

Reference was also made to the prospect of GNTO's cooperation with travel agencies and airlines, as well as tourist media, through the co-advertising, advertising and public relations program, with the aim of increasing the tourist flow from China. The presentation was attended by, among others, the vice mayor of Zhangjiajie City Long Tie jun and Gheng Xi - General Manager, Commercial Department of Juneyao Airlines, who separately had relevant talks with Mourma.
