The Greek defense industry is undergoing its most significant restructuring period since the decade-long economic crisis, as for the first time growth prospects are taking on tangible substance and are accompanied by concrete business examples.

The successive crises that Europe has faced in recent years – the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, inflation and the most recent developments in Israel and Syria – have significantly shaken the European status quo, creating the need to develop a new strategy focused on autonomy in the critical sectors of health, defense, energy and the economy in general. This is because it has become clear that this lack of coherent policymaking significantly limits the EU’s ability and response time to global challenges.

For the sixth consecutive year, Greece participates with the National Pavilion in the largest, exclusively for the Army, 2019 International AUSA Defense Exhibition, held in Washington from October 14-16.
