During his trip to Jerusalem that began on Sunday, Ecumenical Patriarch Varthalomeos of Constantinople toured the Yad Vashem this Tuesday.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the deportation of Jews from Ioannina March 25, 1944, it would be fitting to remember how the Jews of Greece were at all times active participants in and shapers of the cultural and economic development of the country.

Events will be hosted by the local Jewish community, the municipality and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), as was announced in a press conference on Wednesday.
