Greece’s second largest city is set to open a Holocaust museum, to honor the more than 40,000 Jews from Thessaloniki that lost their lives to Nazi hands.

Ioannina Jews remembered
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the deportation of Jews from Ioannina March 25, 1944, it would be fitting to remember how the Jews of Greece were at all times active participants in and shapers of the cultural and economic development of the country.

Thessaloniki to honor holocaust victims
Events will be hosted by the local Jewish community, the municipality and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), as was announced in a press conference on Wednesday.
