The police in Gonnoi, Larissa, found themselves in front of an entire arsenal, when after 4 pm yesterday they managed to enter the carpentry shop of the 60-year-old, who a few minutes earlier had ended his life with a 38-caliber revolver after previously killing two people.

A total of two pistols, grenades, bullets, explosives and a Kalashnikov assault rifle were found at the scene.

The 60-year-old, after several hours earlier killing the distributor from Volos and the carpenter from Skiathos with a .38 revolver, called the police on Sunday morning, stating that he had killed two people in his carpentry shop, citing financial differences he had with the carpenter from Skiathos.

The police officers who immediately arrived at the scene found him holed up in his carpentry workshop holding a grenade and threatening to activate it if there was a raid.

Negotiations began and shortly before 4 pm the perpetrator of the double murder came out of the carpentry workshop shooting in the air with a Kalashnikov and then shot himself with the .38 revolver with which he committed the double murder.

According to what his lawyer stated, the motive for the murder was the "fake" IOUs he received from the sale of machinery from his carpentry workshop in Gonnoi. Shortly before shooting himself, he admitted that he had unjustly killed the distributor from Volos.

The "explosive" past of the murderer who took his own life
The 60-year-old suicide bomber had a variety of activities. He had run as a candidate for parliament with Golden Dawn, but failed to be elected. For years he was a member of Golden Dawn until almost 2015, when he was removed from the organization.

His familiarity with weapons was well-known. In fact, in 2001 he took responsibility for a grenade attack on Turkish truck drivers outside the Larissa Customs House.

Until late Sunday night, police officers continued the investigation at the carpentry shop while taking statements in order to piece together the entire puzzle of the double murder in Gonnoi, Larissa, which shocked the local community
