The Greek economy withstood the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic and is ready to revive, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday, addressing the opening day of the Economist's 25th Roundtable with the Government of Greece, "From social distancing to social solidarity."

A ministerial meeting chaired by the Greek prime minister was held on Monday to focus on stepped up checks and inspections throughout the country to confirm that Covid-19 restrictions are being applied and followed, as concerns heightened in the country over a coming surge in the number of “Delta variant” cases.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis outlined three "key initiatives", as he characterized them, on the agenda of the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday via teleconference.
