The majority of Greeks are against the use of a compound name by FYROM that would include the constituent of “Macedonia”, according to a poll carried out by Pulse for Action 24 TV. More specifically, 59% of the respondents said “No” to agreeing to the use of the term Macedonia for FYROM, as opposed to 35% who agreed.

United Nations mediator Matthew Nimetz, shortly before arriving in Athens and Skopje, for contacts with the two governments, appeared optimistic that a solution to the name of FYROM could be found.

A "dynamic momentum," has developed according to UN special mediator Matthew Nimetz, in an interview with Kathimerini on Sunday, and he is optimistic that a jointly agreed agreement will be reached in cooperation with the international community.
