Despite a climate of optimism being cultivated both in Greece and FYROM on a possible solution for the “Macedonia” name dispute, FYROM’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov told online news-site “balkaninsight.com” that it was too early to be overoptimistic feelings.

On the eve of his visit to FYROM, Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg told FYROM’s state news agency that the country was welcome to join the military alliance, but only when the name dispute with Greece had been settled.

The talks on the name of FYROM are officially starting today, with UN special mediator Matthew Nimetz meeting with the negotiators of Athens and Skopje, ambassadors Adamantios Vassilakis and Vasko Naumovski in New York.
