The first shipment of Greek red saffron is ready to be exported to China in the next few days, said Vasilis Mitsopoulos, President of the Kozani Saffron Producers Cooperative, in a Monday press briefing. 

The first consignment of Greek saffron will be exported to China by the end of May, said the President of the Kozani Saffron Producers Cooperative, Nikos Patsiouras, speaking to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Tuesday. 
Patsiouras expressed his satisfaction on behalf of the Kozani saffron producers, and said this commercial development means entering a market of tremendous dynamic potential. 

Τhis year's harvest of saffron, called Krokos in Greek, has began, timidly, but also with relatively low expectations due to the low rainfall of the past few weeks, with the first flowers already in the fields of the Tsartissiaba region.
