Berlin called on Athens and Skopje to solve the latest issues in the nomenclature and to make use of the historic opportunity to resolve the issue.

“We believe in an honest compromise that both sides have to gain from. There will be no loser. You can not get everything you have in your mind”, said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias in a joint press conference after his meeting with his FYROM counterpart, Nikola Dimitrov.

A rally demonstrating against the change of the name of FYROM was staged by around 5,000 people in Skopje, ending up with burning the Greek flag.
