The acceleration of the development processes of the e-National Port Community Platform by the co-competent Ministries of Shipping and Electronic Government was the focus of the discussion of the Board of Directors meeting of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry-PCCI, which was attended by the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, the president of Hellenic Chamber of Shipping-HCS, Giorgos Pateras and the representatives of the president of +ENOSIS and Greek Union of Shipowners-UGS, Ms. Melina Travlos, Christos Bousios and Ekaterini Peppa, respectively.

The Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS) is going to undertake new initiatives to attract young people to the maritime professions and to strengthen the ties of youth with shipping with the aim of defending and preserving the seafaring spirit of the Greeks.

An initiative of international scope has been launched by the Union of Greek Shipowner to correct "erroneous passages" of international environmental regulations decided at the level of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
