Greece remains at the top of the list of the countries with the highest unemployment rate in the EU28, which has an average of 9.1%, the lowest since February 2009. According to data for July 2017 released by Eurostat, unemployment fell both at an individual and collective level.

Unemployment declined by 1.9 percentages points to 21.7 percent in May from 23.6 percent in the same month last year, Greece?s statistics agency ELSTAT said in a report on Thursday. The rate follows an upwardly revised 21.8 percent in April 2017. 

The European Central Bank's data about real unemployment in Greece is frightening as it is seen reaching 31.3% in the fourth quarter of the year.
